My presentation is about pornography: what psychoanalytic theories contemporaries say about pornography and more specifically about addiction in pornography? I really appreciate the invitation (to talk about this) because I believe that, in our psychoanalytic community, there is not enough space for this topic. It is a very important topic because there is a lot of clinical material to respect and there is a lot of influence in contemporary society. For example, when I was a candidate, the word pornography was never mentioned. There was absolutely silence about this. Nowadays that has changed a little. But anyway, it's not that common a topic during psychoanalytic meetings. In this presentation, I provide a brief overview of pornography – but no explicit images. I cover some psychoanalytic concepts and others neuroscientific. I will also try to make a connection with the interesting Mark Solms' presentation on primary emotional systems. [...]
